No Debtors' Prison for Kids
Every state allows juvenile and criminal courts to impose costs, fines, and fees on kids and their families. In some instances, kids deemed indigent (or unable to pay) must pay for their "free" public defender. Kids face dire consequences when they can't pay these costs. Sometimes, kids are locked up simply because they can’t afford to pay the fines and fees.

I copy-edited the project's report, project managed the layout and design with a freelance designer, supervised the development of a microsite to visualize report data. I created social media content, including a kit for advocacy partners, to promote the report and site launch. I also coordinated and staffed a congressional briefing.
